The POD: Guidelines of Use and Privacy Policy

The POD (Schoolbox)

The POD – Place of Discovery (Schoolbox) is designed, updated and maintained by St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School to support teaching and learning, the broader operational needs of the school and to communicate with members of the St Margaret’s community. The Guidelines of Use and Privacy Policy for The POD – Place of Discovery constitute an agreement by the user and St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School that covers the access to and use of the site, content contained therein, including third party sites and content and privacy of users. Before entering The POD you should first read and familiarise yourself with this policy. If you do not agree with any of the Guidelines of Use of The POD, you should immediately log out the site and advise the Administrator so that your access can be de-activated.

Acceptance of Guidelines of Use.

  1. You agree that The POD may only be used as a resource to support teaching and learning, the operational activities of the school and communication to the broader school community.
  2. You give consent to Administrators of The POD to monitor the use of and content within The POD.
  3. You agree to maintain the confidentiality of your unique username (UserID/username) and related password for The POD, and not provide them to any other person.
  4. You consent to the collection, storage, use of and dissemination of your personal information in accordance with the St Margaret’s Privacy Policy.
  5. You agree to access and use The POD in accordance with the St Margaret’s Acceptable Use of Technology Policy.
  6. Breaches to the Guidelines of Use of The POD may result in further action being taken by the School or referral to other regulatory bodies.
  7. You agree that changes may be made to the Guidelines of Use and Privacy Policy and it is your responsibility to be aware of these changes.

Access to and Use of The POD

  1. Users of The POD (Staff and Students) are issued with unique account credentials (UserID/ Username & password) that determine their level of access to information.
  2. Users of The POD should notify the Administrator immediately if their credentials have been compromised, misused or forgotten in order to provide alternative credentials to provide you with secure and ongoing use of the service.
  3. Users of The POD are fully responsible for all of their activity and content under their account credentials.
  4. You are not permitted to access the account of or impersonate any other user of The POD.
  5. Information that users contribute to The POD is by default, identifiable to your credentials and includes both the time and date.
  6. St Margaret’s reserves the right to make changes to or terminate The POD service at any time.
  7. Users are not permitted to bypass restriction measures within The POD as determined necessary by the Administrator.

Content 

  1. Users of The POD must ensure that all content complies with Copyright Law and that contributors and users are not permitted to copy or redistribute material from inside The POD without the express permission of the author/ contributor.
  2. Users of The POD are fully aware that St Margaret’s takes no responsibility for the loss of content caused in connection with the use of the service. All reasonable efforts will be made to restore content where possible.
  3. Users of The POD must ensure that all content complies with the Acceptable Use of Technology Policy.
  4. Users of The POD accept that the Administrator reserves the right to change or remove out of date content.

Third Party Services

  1. Users of The POD are fully aware that the service may contain or provide access to third party websites or services that have different Terms and Conditions.
  2. St Margaret’s does not provide any endorsement of third party services and is not responsible for the accuracy or any other aspect of the content provided by such services.
